Lotus II

Warts are skin lesions caused by the human papilloma virus.

Its removal is not easy as the warts have their own blood supply system which generates heavy bleeding. Additionally nerve committed by causing great pain terminals.
Warts are contagious. Individuals with impaired immune systems are more prone to this disease. Depending on the serotype of the virus, the affected area is different (hands, face, feet, anogenital etc.).

Treatments:
The treatments are based on the local tissue destruction:

Cryosurgery (freezing the tissue) is an effective treatment but very painful and leaves a damage of the treated area that has long recovery.
Electrocoagulation generated as much destruction of tissue, long recovery time and possible scarring.
Surgical treatment.
Laser Treatment.
Topical Medications.
Intralesional bleomycin inhibits DNA and slows growth.

Hands warts

Warts from the skin of the hands and fingers are caused by papilloma virus HPV.
The emergence of these warts is more common in childhood and adolescence and they are produced by contagion with a companion or family member. Once infection occurs, the virus can remain latent in the skin, for weeks or months until the wart grew up.
Wart do not cause organic disease or cancer but they are cosmetically annoying and painful.

Treatments:
Creams with acid Salicylic applied once a day, for months. Cryotherapy and Electrocoagulacion are painful procedures, generates a local damage which takes 2 to 4 weeks to heal. Excision surgery. Usually leaves anesthetic scars

Plantar warts

Plantar warts are a benign lesions caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV).
There are two types:
* Wart caused by HPV 1, mirmecia is the most common, looking cauliflower with small black spots, are deep and painful.
* The wart surface caused by HPV 2 are a set of non-painful warts that looks for calluses. Warts are contagious when walking on wet surfaces of swimming pools or bathrooms. they can be prevented using sandals.

Treatments:
Plantar warts can be treated with a Keratolytic (based on Salicylic Vaseline)
Cryoterapy: is painful and usually recurrent.
