It is a small reddish bump on the skin that bleeds easily due to an abnormally high number of blood vessels.

Clinical Picture

The granuloma appears frequently after injury. Clinically, they present as a small red vascular bump that bleeds easily.

It often occurs at the site of a recent injury. It is most often seen on the hands, arms, and face. Most pyogenic granulomas can be removed, but scarring may occur after treatment. There is a good chance that the condition will come back if the entire granuloma has not been destroyed during treatment.

Treatment

At the Hoogstra Medical Centers we treat granulomas with a 980 nm diode vascular laser, without resection, without scars and the patient can immediately resume their activity.

Botryomicoma is also known by these names that refer to its rich vascular composition:
- Pyogenic granuloma.
- Raspberry tumor.
- Capillary hemangioma.
