Papillomas of the skin

It also receives other names: skin tags, skin papillomas or fibroepithelial polyps.

What are they?

They are benign tumors, not contagious, unlike warts, which are. They may be skin-colored or darker, may be completely attached or joined by a thin pedicle.

It is seen more frequently in friction areas such as the neck, armpits, trunk and body folds, generally after the age of 40 and in overweight people. Biopsies are only necessary if they have a suspicious appearance of transformation.
